The form takes about twenty minutes — average completed time is seventeen. You don’t have to fill in everything; a sentence about your business and a logo is enough to get a preview. We iterate from a real site, not a list of requirements. If you’re stuck on a question, leave it blank — we’ll ask if we need to.

For genuinely complex situations — a legal sign-off, a partnership decision, something that needs nuance the keyboard can’t carry — yes. We just don’t start there. The default is writing because it scales the business (one person can serve more clients in writing than on calls) and it’s almost always faster end-to-end.

We use AI as tooling, not output. The Nielsen Norman Group’s 2025 analysis found roughly 80% of AI-generated sites share the same three or four template patterns — same hero, same 3-card row, same stock-photo grid. We start from your brief, your brand if you have one, and a design vocabulary that’s deliberately not the AI-default one. The judgment is human.

Fixed prices on a modular menu means you know what you’re paying before you commit, and we know what we’re delivering before we start. If your project genuinely needs scope outside the modular menu — a multi-site network, a marketplace, a payment integration — that’s a By-quote engagement, not a refusal. We’ll just quote honestly rather than pretend it fits the menu.

The repo is yours. Add modules with us, take it to another developer, or self-manage. The stack is Astro + Cloudflare — mainstream, well-documented, hireable. You’re fine. The code is in your repo, the domain is on your registrar, the hosting account is in your name, the admin is on your infrastructure. There’s no central service that fails if we fail. The sample contract spells this out explicitly — you don’t need us alive to keep your site running.

Probably. The async-first model means location doesn’t matter for the work itself; the constraint is timezone overlap, not city.
